Description:

The lecture is an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, where AI is seen as the study of constructing intelligent systems based on intelligent agents. The agents perceive their environment and perform actions. There are many ways in which agents can decide which actions to perform given certain percepts.

In the beginning a short introduction to AI will be given, then the structure of a generic intelligent agent will be introduced together with several specializations of such an agent. Once the notion of intelligent agent has been defined, we will take a look into how agents can solve a problem by searching, how knowledge can be represented in order for the agents to be able to reason about the world and about their own actions, how agents can construct a plan in different settings, how they can reach a decision, and how they can learn.
