The lecture unit on "UbiComp Human-Machine-Interfaces", scheduled on Friday January 28 will be given by a special guest lecturer, Prof. M. Kranz from TU München.
This lecture discusses the challenges in computer systems research posed by the emerging field of Ubiquitous Computing. It first examines the relationship of this new field to its predecessors: distributed systems and mobile computing. We elaborate on the three main facets of Ubiquitous Computing, which are ad-hoc networks, smart sensors & devices, and context-awareness. The lecture will also address recent trends and future directions of the field.
